Together with management and employees of organizations, strengths and weaknesses are identified, and the passion of people (re-)activated. And where needed, plans are developed with strategic and operational objectives.

Seven Waves has extensive experience in chairing and facilitating meetings, seminars, and congresses, both regional, national and international. Central to this is the creation of a good and open atmosphere, and enabling dialogues and exchange of opinions and experiences.

Nature For Health (NFH) is an international organization aimed at promoting the relationship between nature and health. NFH is convinced that nature and natural interventions help us to improve the quality of life with a reduction in healthcare costs. To determine how we can actually apply green and nature in such a way that it optimally contributes to the mental and physical well-being of people, the foundation encourages both research and realization in practice.

2014 – March 2018 

Chairman of the “Biodiversity Works” Steering Group NWO (The Dutch Research Council) and Ministries of Economic Affairs / Agriculture, Nature Management and Food Quality (LNV).

The “Biodiversity Works” Research Program started in 2010 and closed in 2018. It was funded by the Ministry of LNV (€ 1.25 million) and NWO € 2.4 million. It included fourteen projects, eight PhD students and six postdocs. The programme focussed on three themes: dynamic nature, ecosystem services and spatial scarcity. Each project involved one or more stakeholders / end users from the application. The Steering Committee was the decision-making body.

The Land & Sea Group is an international organization that brings together networks and expertise in the field of land and sea, and gives impulses to sustainability and circular economy.

Executive Director ECNC (Foundation ECNC-European Centre for Nature Conservation)

ECNC was an independent European biodiversity center for sustainable development, aimed at promoting a beautiful Europe, healthy nature and a sustainable economy.

Deputy Head / Europe Coordinator International Affairs Nature, Forest and Biodiversity, Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Management and Food Quality (LNV)

In particular, I was responsible for EU coordination, including Natura 2000, Eastern and Central Europe Nature Management Program, Pan-European Ecological Network, International Nature Management Program, and the Government’s policy on Tropical Rainforest and wetlands of international importance.
